This thing has saved my sanity!!! Literally!
I am nearly 70 and have always had good hearing, but over the past many years my hearing has become more and more sensitive. My hearing test last year rated me as A+. My hearing is so keen that I cannot tolerate what I call unnecessary noise. If I’m in church, people talking and babies crying irritates me to the point that I have to leave or move my seat. If I were relaxing at home, I would be angered by noise from neighbors. I have had to move into an assisted living center due to my old age complications, and the noise from other residents – TVs and music coming from their rooms – was driving me crazy to the point where I would honestly rather be dead than continue living like that. Worse yet, was the amount of noise coming from the working staff! Between shifts or on breaks, they could be heard whooping and hollering it up with rauckus laughter halfway across the building! They didn’t care that some of the residents may be sleeping or resting. They would even yell to each other up and down the halls rather than go closer to each other and talk in a normal voice. I can’t impress upon anybody how I hated this place and having to be here because of the noise. I did not like having someone else’s TV or music blocking my enjoyment of my own TV or preventing me from resting or sleeping peacefully.Then my brother Informed me of this wonderful, magical little machine. It is like the difference between night and day in my room as well as in my head! No longer do I hear even a peep coming from the hallway or from other residents’ rooms. I am in blissful heaven! The only sound I hear is a fan since that is the setting I have chosen. I can easily adapt to the sound of a loud fan in my room. It’s not the same as having total silence, but after a while I don’t even notice the fan sound at all. I have it on 24/7. I cannot recommend this sound machine highly enough for anyone who is trying to block out noise!It’s important to note, that the machine has to be set between you and the offending noise. I have it between my recliner and the door to my room, but when I’m in the bathroom on the other side of the room, I can hear the noise coming from the hallway. So, you may need to have two separate machines going if you have noise coming from more than one direction. It will be money well spent, though!

Great white noise to help block out unwanted sound.
This is a great device for white noise! I am a very light sleeper, and I live in a very noisy area. We live in a beach community with a large street behind our house that invites all sorts of noisy vehicles coming to and from the beach. (Ugh, the Harleys and cars with modified exhausts! It is great that they love their vehicles, and I don’t begrudge them this, but it does a number on my sleep.) This device has many different tones from which to choose, and the volume can be as loud or soft as you like. I use it mostly at night, but sometimes I just keep it on during the day because it’s just a soothing white noise. I also take it with me when I travel. There is travel case that you can purchase separately if you’d like to keep it extra protected. I would definitely recommend this product if you need to mask unwanted sound or if you just enjoy having white noise in your space.

La migliore macchina per il rumore bianco. Fa solo questo ma lo fa con qualità molto elevata. Chi si lamenta del brutto rumore evidentemente non voleva un rumore bianco ma suoni rilassanti della natura ecc. Questo è puro rumore bianco o di ventola che serve espressamente a coprire i rumori e lo fa in modo incredibile, raggiunge un volume elevatissimo senza mai gracchiare. Quando ti abitui risulta anche rilassante. Ma è ovvio che appena lo senti fa impressione pensare di dormirci. Se non dovete combattere con rumori molesti potreste preferire una macchina che fa anche suoni della natura più rilassanti. Ma per il rumore bianco questa è la migliore. È anche importante scegliere il rumore adatto a voi, che sappia coprire i rumori molesti ma che sia ancje abbastanza dolce (ad esempio per me il rumore rosa/verde è insopportabile ma fortunatamente ci sono quelli marrone e bianco oltre a diverse ventole molto rilassanti). Mein superempfindliches Gehör lässt mich leider auch niederfrequente (Brumm-)Töne hören, so dass ich nach meinem Umzug von einer Hauptstaße in eine (vermeintlich) ruhigere Strasse im Stadtrandgebiet, jahrelang durch Brummtöne gefoltert wurde, die außer mir kaum jemand hören konnte. Nichts half und eine wirksame Dämmung der Wohnung war unmöglich, so dass ich über zwei Jahre lang kaum Schlaf finden konnte (zur Erklärung: Brumm- und Dröhngeräusche 24 Stunden am Tag sind um Längen störender/quälender als jede noch so laute Hauptstraße). Notgedrungen bin ich dann erneut umgezogen, diesmal in eine Gegend in der bei meiner Vorabrecherche kein Brummen zu hören war. ZWEI Tage nach meinem Umzug hörte ich plötzlich wieder ein Brummen und war schon völlig am Verzweifeln. Vermutete Ursache diesmal: Mehrere Groß-Baustellen in relativer Nähe, die tatsächlich erst kurz nach meinem Einzug ihren Betrieb aufnahmen und vermutlich Tag und Nacht Wasserpumpen zum Absenken des Grundwasserspiegels laufen lassen. In meiner Verzweiflung habe ich mir bei einem Spezialisten Ohrstöpsel anpassen lassen (werden dem Gehörgang nachgeformt und bieten den bestmöglichen Schallschutz), doch diese konnten den Brummton leider nur abschwächen, nicht aber genug, dass ich ruhig hätte durchschlafen können. Ein Kollege erzählte mir dann von dem “Weißen Rauschen” und das diese Geräte häufig bei Kleinkindern eingesetzt werden, die Einschlafstörungen zeigen. Da ich ja schon alles andere ausprobiert hatte, habe ich dieses Gerät dann auch noch bestellt, obwohl ich mehr als skeptisch war. Tatsächlich sind die diversen Ventilator- und Rauschgeräusche im ersten Moment auch alles andere als angenehm, doch habe ich ein Rauschgeräusch gefunden, dass die Brummfrequenz super überdeckt und durch meine Ohrstöpsel selbst so gut abgemindert wird, dass ich tatsächlich problemlos ein- und durchschlafen kann. Ich stelle mir beim Einschlafen einfach vor, dass ich direkt neben einem reißenden Fluss wohne und empfinde das trotz Ohrstöpseln immer noch hörbare Rauschen dann als angenehme Geräuschkulisse. Also: Das Rauschen allein empfände ich schon als störend beim Einschlafen, denn absolute Stille wäre mir dabei am liebsten. Doch in Kombination mit den Ohrstöpseln ist es top. Hätte ich das Gerät nicht ausprobiert, hätte ich wieder umziehen müssen, denn bei dem vorherrschenden Brummton hätte ich kein Auge zumachen können. So kann ich in meiner Wohnung bleiben und darauf hoffen, dass das Brummen tatsächlich von den Baustellen kommt. Denn diese werden ja irgendwann wieder geschlossen und dann wird es mir ein grosses Vergnügen sein wieder OHNE Hilfsmittel ein- und durchzuschlafen (so wie ich es vorher trotz Hauptstraße direkt vor meinem Fenster auch konnte). Zum Gerät selbst: Es ist klein und kompakt und die Bedienung ist selbsterklärend. Lediglich beim Kabel stutzt man erst, da dort ein Adapter (USB) befestigt ist. Es liegt aber ein passender Stecker bei und man muss die Adapter nur austauschen, dann sieht es wie ein normaler Stecker aus. Also eigentlich sehr praktisch, da man das Gerät dann u.U. auch ins Ausland mitnehmen kann.
