Dynarex Zinc Oxide Ointment, Soothes, Prevents, and Relieves Diaper Rash, Chaffed Skin, and Irritation, White, 1 Count – 15 oz. Jar of Ointment
Are You Worried About Persistent Skin Itching or Irritation?
Do you feel like you’ve tried everything to soothe your itchy skin, but so far, nothing has worked? It might be time to get back to basics with a simple formula of 20% zinc oxide.
As a gentle topical solution, zinc oxide is used to help with everything from sunburn to baby diaper rashes. Whether you’re struggling with chafing in your jeans or a rash that won’t go away, our handy tube of ointment may help you address your dilemmas in a quick and painless way.
The Zinc Oxide Ointment from Dynarex is an all-around skin solution you can carry in your pocket!
For Dryness & Minor Abrasions
That itchy patch of skin might be caused by a reaction to something you touched or a natural response to dry weather.
Our topical solution may help relieve itching caused by dryness, minor burns, or stings. Applying our zinc ointment over parched, cracked, or recovering skin may also add a layer of protection and moisture, which may help your skin regain its natural softness.
For Calming Sensitive Skin
Rashes on babies are usually caused by harsh ingredients in diapers and wipes. They may also be triggered by chafing or the buildup of sweat.
Luckily, applying a thin layer of our zinc oxide ointment may help soothe your baby’s irritated skin. As a skin protectant and a mild astringent, topical zinc oxide may be used to help lessen friction, dry out and settle rashes, and lock in moisture to encourage skin repair.
A Powerful Sun Shield
Zinc oxide is a powerful mineral component that may help block both UV-A and UV-B rays. Many even consider it the safest among all broad-spectrum UV filters, which is why you’ll find it a common component in sunscreens formulated for sensitive skin.
Zinc oxide works by creating a defensive shield over your irritated skin instead of penetrating it. Because of its low photo-reactivity, it won’t break down or generate unstable substances when exposed to the sun.
Meets Every Need
Things like surprise rashes, random itches, or painful little paper cuts can make an already bad day even worse. But if you can prevent these little annoyances or stop them as soon as they occur, you never have to miss a step.
Applying our zinc oxide ointment may help soothe a sore or itchy spot if you can’t immediately take proper care of it. Keep a tube handy in your locker, drawer, or gym bag for those inevitable rainy days!
Perfect For Traveling
The active ingredient in our topical ointment is 20% zinc oxide – a good concentration for chapped skin, diaper rashes, minor stings, or sun protection. It has a shelf-life of up to 3 years, and the easy-squeeze tube is small enough to fit into your pocket or a purse!
Zinc oxide is a good all-around ointment to have before doing heavy yard work or going camping and hiking.
Easy to Apply
Make sure to wash and dry your hands before applying the ointment to help prevent further irritation.
The ointment is thick and dry, so it might be best to leave it on overnight before washing it off in the morning. When using it on your face, avoid areas near your eyes.
Do not use ointment if you are sensitive to zinc oxide, petroleum, or any other ingredients of this topical solution.

PROTECTIVE SKIN BARRIER: Dynarex Zinc Oxide Ointment can be applied to clean, dry skin to help avoid diaper rash and chaffing. The ointment is easy to spread and prevents irritation.
DIAPER RASH: Clean the area thoroughly, and apply a liberal amount of Dynarex Zinc Oxide Ointment to the area for both the prevention and treatment of diaper rash. Reapply with each new diaper.
SOOTHING RELIEF: Skin will feel soothing relief from the initial application of the zinc oxide ointment, during and throughout the entire treatment process until skin returns to its normal, healthy state.
ANTI-INFLAMMATORY & ACNE TREATMENT: The anti-inflammatory properties of zinc oxide may help reduce the swelling and redness associated with acne, and the visibility of acne scaring.
OTHER TOPICAL SKIN ISSUES: Wind burn, itchy skin, minor scrapes, insect bites, and the weeping associated with poison ivy, poison oak and poison sumac can all feel calmed following the application and regular use of zinc oxide ointment.
Customers say

The product receives positive feedback for its consistency, with one customer noting its fine grade of liquid paraffin base. Customers disagree on the thickness and petroleum content of the product.

Uses beyond lifeguard’s nose
Haven’t used this yet but it’s great for scrapes, scratches, and itches because it provides a skin barrier that didn’t require a bandaid as well. Similar to calamine lotion but white instead of pink. Normally we have lots of incidents requiring attention but the rain and hot heat has reduced them this year. I’ve been told that it’s good for diaper or heat rash.

The BEST DIAPER CREAM
Don’t waste your money on small tubs of diaper cream when you can get this massive container for under $10. This is a super high percentage of zinc so it makes a great barrier cream for any babies that get rashes easily. It is also free of petroleum if that concerns you or if you are worried about repelling in cloth diapers. We use cloth diapers and have had no repelling issues and use this on all fabrics (AWJ, microsuede, cotton, bamboo, hemp). Incredible value and a great product.

Worked first time
This healed my skin from constantly having to use paper tape while dressing a wound on my elbow.

good product, reasonable price.
This is a good product, I purchased this Zinc Oxide ointment for my elderly mother and she really likes it, It was much cheaper than other similar products with the same amount. Except, this product was a third to half a cheap. Overall, well worth the purchase.

Maybe not the best for face basting…
After cleansing my face, I applied this product to help repair my skin barrier. However, it caused a burning sensation around my nose, mouth, and central forehead area that wouldn’t subside. After waiting a few minutes, I had to wash it off and apply a soothing jelly to ease the burning. I did use it on my chest, arms, and legs, and the next morning after washing it off, my skin was incredibly soft. It seems like this product may work well for the body, but not for the face. I’ve noticed that it’s popular for facial use on different social media platforms, so it might just be me who can’t use it on my face. However, I wouldn’t rule it out for others.
