better than most and almost beautiful to look at
I basically collect these little noise machines because I am VERY sound sensitive and I need a variety of background noise living in a crowded area next to a busy road. I end up returning the majority of them because the sounds either loop in too short of a clip and it’s obvious, or there is a high- or low-pitched frequency in the background that drives me cr*zy (other people can’t hear this but I can, especially at night when I have earplugs in).I tested all the sounds on this and while many of them maybe aren’t my cup of tea, so far none of them are especially annoying, either. I will do an extended test and update my review, but as of now, there was not a single sound that was an immediate hard no. For me, if I can find one sound that I don’t find bothersome, that’s enough for me to keep it because I’ll just use that sound and my brain learns to ignore it as background noise. EDIT: I’ve found my sound and have it on day and night. No background frequencies and I completely forget it’s in. Win!The volume options range from rather quiet to quite loud, so you are sure to find a setting that works for you.The wood-grain option is by far one of the best-looking noise machines I’ve seen, to the point it’s almost stylish. It looks exactly like the pictures and is a solidly build. Yet it’s still both portable and lightweight. I LOVE that you can long press to turn off the LED lights, which I have never seen on any other machine except the very expensive ones that are basically just mini-fans (my favorites). Already that makes me a fan for life. HATE those LEDs, especially on bedroom devices!The included cord is longer than the super short ones that seem to come with everything these days, which is also a plus.It’s also intuitive to use because I figured it out immediately (including the long-press LED thing) without reading the manual.Pro-Tip: While I do sometimes like to keep one of these closer to me, they actually work best closer to the source of the noise, whether that is near the window or near the neighboring wall. In addition to being more effective that way, they are also less distracting and easier to tune out.Hope that helps!

All in all, it’s not a bad little device…
This small noise machine, which is designed to aid sleep/calm, is rechargeable, small, and lightweight. There were no instruction included with the one I received, though, so I had to refer to the product page images, but I think someone with more patience would eventually figure it out on their own.The list of sound categories is also a bit off. An image on the product page at present lists 5 fan sounds, 5 white noise sounds,3 rain sounds, 4 lullabies, and 15 natural sounds, However, when I went through them, there were 14 natural sounds (including the rain ones), one clock sound (I wouldn’t consider that natural), and seven instrumental tunes (one with whistling) accessible through the musical note button.Compared to the five options for the white noise button and five options for the fan noise button, one must cycle through 22 options via the musical note button. Having two buttons — one for the music and one for the nature/clock sounds for all those sounds — would make faster and easier to navigate to one’s desired setting if it’s one deeper in the options.Some sounds are more accurate than others: for example, the heartbeat sounds wooden/hollow but the crickets, frogs, and birds all sound great. The volume controls work well, though, as does the timer, and the device is capable of playing at a decent volume for something so small.I do feel that this isn’t the greatest value for the current $19.99 retail price based on the design and the quality of some of the sounds, but it’s not a bad little gizmo, particularly for travel when a small size is definitely a plus.

Charming little noise machine that offers a wide range of sounds and melodies that suits all people
This is my first white noise machine and I LOVE it. It features 32 different sounds, 22 of which are different background noises or melodies from everyday life, another 5 sounds are different forms of white noise, brown noise, pink noise, etc. and the last 5 features different fan noises. Aside from the adjustable volume it also has a timer you can select up to intervals of 30 minutes, 60, or 90 (or none) at all.It’s small enough in your hand that you can easily hold it in your hand and the round, wooden appearance gives it a charming, homey look. Personally, I prefer this appearance much more than a clean white colored machine.The noises are varied enough not to monotonous at all, and although some of them (like the wind sound) might not sound the most realistic, they are intricately detailed enough to still sound nice and work well.The only thing I can’t find out from this product listing or the device instructions it came with is how long the average runtime on battery is before it needs recharging. It doesn’t seem to specify on here at all, but the device does have signal indicators when the battery is running low. I will assume it can run for at least several hours on continuous repeat so if you’re mainly going to use the timer function, I don’t foresee you’ll need to charge it every night.All in all, I highly recommend this machine for a simple yet effective white noise/background noise generator. Especially considering that the seller offers a 1-year warranty, that already makes this product 100% worth the purchase for the value.
