Lovely Design for Both White Noise and Nightlight
This MelodySusie “Sound Machine with 31 Soothing Sounds & Night Light” is really a nice design for a rechargeable style of sound machine. I say “for a rechargeable” sort, because really my preference for a white noise machine that I use each and every night, is that it be one that I plug into the wall, so that it doesn’t die on me one night while I’m deep in sleep and startle me awake. Rechargeable just isn’t ideal for everyday use. What it IS useful for though is to have on hand for times when you know the night will be stormy, and there is a good chance you will lose power, and you want access to white noise still in that case, and a nightlight as well. Or a rechargeable sort is also good for having white noise available where you do not have a plug handy, like when camping. (In that case, I would have two of these and switch them out if one dies in the night, until I can charge up the one that ran out of battery the next day.) As a rechargeable design- this MelodySusie white noise machine is probably my very favorite. I love that it comes with a stand that gets it up off the surface it sits on- this makes for such a nice bottom-lit non-obtrusive nightlight, and it also adds to the sound quality to have the sound more unfettered like it is. The sound quality on this I consider to be very good compared to other little sound machines similar to this. The stand, by the way, you do have to assemble yourself, but it is really easy to do, it is just three pegs that you have to push into 3 holes, and the stand is assembled. It takes just a few seconds to do. I love that they have separated out in the buttons on the top of the device- 3 buttons for 3 different categories of sound. One button controls all the “white noise” options. One button controls all the “Fan sounds.” The 3rd button is an assortment of ambient nature sounds: a howling gale, a crackling campfire, lovely gentle rain, dripping water (horrible), ticking clock (horrible), train sounds, a music box playing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” (I love this!!! I have never come across another white noise machine with this song selection, and it is charming!) There is a horrible nose “sniffing” soundtrack, that absolutely no one anywhere would ever willing listen to, it sounds like my husband’s nose whistling at night. Terrible. Followed by another terrible shushing one that also sounds like a someone weird snoring in bed with you. Not good. But then a lovely electronic lullaby-sounding song. And another “Rock-a-bye” sort of a lullaby. Then the traditional “Rock-a-bye Lullaby.” There are far too many lullabies. But the other ambient sound options are lovely- crickets, then a plethora of birds in the forest – very delightful, a bubbling brook (you would be surprised how many white noise machines don’t offer you any bubbling brook soundtrack, so this made me very happy!!!,) waves breaking on a shoreline, and then back to the howling gale, which makes you want to cozy up in bed under all of your blankets. Usually though, the only sounds that REALLY matter on a white noise machine like this, are the white noise and fan sounds, and this device, I’m happy to report, has plenty of good options for those. 8 white noise options I counted in ever increasing pitches. 7 fan options of varying timbres. That is all you really need and a handful of fun ambient sounds, which this does have. The volume for this device is a good range, you can get it as loud as you would possibly need it. And they have buttons that are solely designated for the volume controls, which I appreciate. It is not a shared button with something else, so you don’t have to remember if you need to short press it or long hold it to change the volume versus the soundtrack. The timer also has its own button, which you can set for 30 minutes, 60 minutes, or 120 minutes, which really only makes that timer good for waking you from a timed nap, or for playing the ambient sounds for a set time. Most white noises you want to run the full night and there is no timer for 8 hours in length! The night light on this is great, it has 4 setting of dimness up to bright. AND (and this is rare) it starts on the lowest light and you can press it up to the brightest light. The only drawback there, is that once you turn it on you have to keep going up through the brightest light before it will shut off. So that sort of negates the brilliance of starting on the low light setting. The other thing to know is if you long hold that light button, it changed the mode to a dynamic fading in and out light, a nightlight with motion. Which is fun but impractical for sleeping. Long hold that button again to change back. My only real contention with this machine is that the nightlight button isn’t placed in the center of the device so you can find how to turn it on in the middle of the night if you need it. They put the power button in the center, but that doesn’t need to be found so easily because you will turn it on when there is light out still most lightly or light on in your room. The nightlight button is the one that should be in the center. That is my only complaint with this device. This white noise machine is a good medium size, and it has such an attractive modern look to it, I find it is the white noise machine I default to using most often if I lose power, I keep it charged up for just such a situation. I really like this device as a portable and rechargeable option.

    Really relaxing!
I got this white noise machine because I have a hard time falling asleep without a fan, but some nights it’s too cold to run one. This provides that noise for me without the extra chill. In the box, you get the machine, the stand, and a USB-C cable. The stand is just three small wooden pieces that peg together, so it’s super easy to assemble. It seems pretty sturdy as-is and it holds the machine well, but you could always glue the pieces together for extra stability. The machine itself is solid- the build quality is quite nice and it feels like it’ll hold up well to time. It’s easy to figure out and use right out of the box; just hold the power button down for 3 seconds to turn it off, tap the same button to pause, or hold it down again to turn it off. All the buttons are clearly labeled with graphics that make it easy to tell what each of them does. The light on the bottom of the machine can be controlled with several different brightnesses, so it makes for a good night light as well. There’s a timer button that runs the machine for 30, 60, or 120 minutes, as well as volume buttons, and three buttons for the different sound categories. It has white noises, nature noises, and fan noises. The white noises seem to differ in intensity/pitch; every time you press the button it sounds a little more “aggressive”. The nature and miscellanious noises include three music box melodies, cricket/night noise, birds chirping, bubbling water, ocean waves, wind whistling, fire crackling, rain and gentle thunder, dripping water, a ticking clock, what sounds like machinery maybe?, and two variants of shushing noises. It will also play a specific jingle when you cycle through the options again. It remembers what sound you were playing last when you power it back on as well, which is quite nice. When charging the machine, the small light on the top of it will glow red, and then when it’s fully charged, the light will turn off. It can still be used while it charges, so you could keep it plugged in at night to prevent it from losing power. Mine charges in about an hour and it lasts a long time- I’ve used it for a week and I’ve even forgotten to set the timer for a few of the nights- meaning, it was running all night for multiple nights straight, but it still has battery after all that!Overall, I’m very pleased with this little machine and I enjoy using it at night; it really does help me fall asleep easier.

Good combination background noise + night light
This one had sat here for a while up until we went on vacation. At home we have echo dots that get used for nighttime noise but my daughter wanted to have some background noise when we were at the beach so we brought this along. It’s a great option for trips when you might want a bit of a night light AND background noise. She’s used to having a bit of light in the background so this was perfect. There’s enough variation in sounds there for everyone… she prefers a rain type sound and was able to find one that worked well for her. It’s easy enough to use that she (8 years old) had no problems working it at all.It looks good on the dresser and at just under 20 bucks you’re getting a good chunk of functionality in one device. Definitely great for any kids room, or your own.

As a Vine Voice, I was eager to try the MelodySusie Sound Machine with Night Light, hoping it could be the solution to mitigate sound transfer within my downtown apartment. Living amidst street noise and the sounds of neighbours can be a challenge for my nervous dog and I’m thrilled to report that this machine has far exceeded my expectations! This little powerhouse has become an absolute staple in my home, running almost constantly. Its ability to effectively mitigate noise from both the street and other tenants is truly remarkable. The consistent, soothing white noise it generates creates a remarkably peaceful environment, allowing my nervous dog to rest easy without being startled by every passing siren, car door slam or hallway commotion. This alone has been a massive relief for both of us.Beyond just blocking external sounds, the machine brings a genuine sense of comfort. I leave it on all the time, often with the warm night light glowing softly, and it creates a cozy, secure atmosphere in my living space. I’ve also found the white noise incredibly helpful when I’m working; it provides a consistent background hum that helps me focus and minimizes distractions, allowing me to concentrate better. With 31 soothing sounds to choose from, there’s definitely variety, but I’ve personally found the white noise options to be perfect for my needs. The added warm night light is a lovely bonus, offering a gentle glow that’s comforting without being intrusive. The fact that it’s portable also means I could easily move it to another room or take it with me if needed, though for now, it’s a permanent fixture. If you live in a noisy environment, have a pet sensitive to sounds, or simply want a consistent, calming background for relaxation or work, the MelodySusie Sound Machine is an outstanding choice. It’s truly transformed the atmosphere of my apartment into a much more serene and cosy space.Pros:Extremely effective at mitigating external noise (street, neighbours).Creates a peaceful environment, especially beneficial for nervous pets.Provides a comforting and calming ambiance for humans.White noise is excellent for focus during work or concentration.Features a pleasant warm night light.31 soothing sounds offer good variety.Portable design adds versatility.Runs consistently for extended periods.Cons:While I mostly use the white noise, exploring all 31 sounds might take a little time to find specific favourites and not all sounds are soothing to my ear.Overall:The MelodySusie Sound Machine with Night Light is an exceptional investment for anyone seeking tranquility and noise reduction in their home. It’s a powerful tool for creating a calm environment for both pets and people, making it an absolute essential for apartment living or anyone sensitive to disruptive sounds. Highly recommended!

I ordered this MelodySusie Sound Machine with Night Light as I sometimes needed a white noise machine to help me sleep and this one has turned out to be perfect for my needs. It comes with a neat little wooden stand and has a nightlight and is rechargeable via USB-C charging. You can also select this sound machine to only play for a set time (30 min, 60 min, 120 min) or have it play continuously. It has so many different sounds from classical music, wind, crackling fire, rain with thunder (my personal favorite) and my cats absolute favorite of bird song. I like also that there is a tune that is played when you come to the end of each buttons selection to let you know to go onto the next section. The volume controls on this white noise machine enable you to select the exact level of loudness/quiet you need from its 32 volume levels. This makes it perfect for use in a nursery or shared children’s bedrooms or when sharing a room with a partner who doesn’t need to fall asleep using it. For me, when I’m not using it at night I sometimes use it during the day to make my cats, especially my old male Mane Coon Mix cat, happy by playing the birdsong which he loves to listen to.The nightlight is lovely as its not overly bright and can be dimmed to one of the 4 adjustable brightness levels. The battery tends to really last a long time, several days in fact, before needing to be recharged and it doesn’t take that overly long to recharge it. The size of this machine is actually quite small and would be perfect for those who require one while traveling.I’m really happy and pleased with this MelodySusie sound machine and hope to be able to fall asleep listening to it for a long time to come. My cats just hope that I don’t grow tired of the continuous playing of the birdsong, lol.

It’s a very simple sound machine, and the base is just three cheap pieces of L-shaped wood stuck together with three dowels. The wood is definitely not as nice as in the photos… and yet somehow everything works and there’s not a whole lot to complain about, especially given the relatively low cost. The machine is rechargeable via USB-C which is great. The base doesn’t do much and isn’t attached to the machine on top, but it lifts it enough to give more space for both the sound and the lighting on the bottom of the machine. The light comes in 4 adjustable levels and you just cycle them with the dedicated light button. Then there’s the sound, which includes the +/- volume buttons plus 3 dedicated sound buttons for white noise, nature, and fan noise, respectively. The white noises and fan noises are just different pitches, not a whole lot to talk about there. The nature sounds have a good variety, and we particularly enjoyed the music box one. Not sure about railroad tracks or grandfather clock ticking, but to each their own I suppose. Thankfully if you stop the sound on a particular sound, it does remember and play the same sound next time you start it. There is also a timer button to select 30, 60, or 120 minutes. These are clearly indicated by LEDs.So there you have it. Not a lot to write home about, and yet everything you need is there and everything just works. And when we’re talking about soothing a baby, the less gimmicks the better.

I am really pleased with those sound machine, it provides great value for the price. It is relatively small which is great because it doesn’t take up a lot of space, and it’s cordless! That means it’s easy to move around as needed, and it’s small size also makes it appropriate for travel. It can be used with or without the wooden stand, but because the speaker is on the bottom it can’t be used on thick carpeting without the stand without muffling some of the sounds, so I suggest placing it on a hard surface like a bookshelf or night stand. The sound quality is good, and the several different sounds and melodies are wonderful (we like the crickets, birds, and bonfire sounds the most out of the nature sounds). The melodies are pleasant and appropriate for a bedtime routine, and the standard white noise is great too. The timer function is great to save battery if you don’t need white noise the entire night. The speaker volume is adjustable which is appreciated so you can have soft rain sound in the background while you work or a louder white noise if needed to block out sound. Lastly, the addition of dimmable night light is a nice and innovative touch.
