Relieves back and hip pain caused by over exertion. Stays on through the night.
I am 75, still in good health and physical condition, and tend to over exert more than I probably should. Most often I get back and hip aches when I do activities out of the ordinary and use different muscles. I am used to lifting heavy things, but most recently, I spent a day digging out weeds from a garden area and planting new bushes. I was bent over for a period of time in doing this. The next day, my back and hips ached and almost locked when I sat down for a while for dinner. Using one of these patches relieved the pain quickly and I was able to get done things I needed to do. A couple of time, I had sciatic nerve pain and got sharp pains in my back an hips. This patch help so very much to relieve the pain allowing me to carry on with my day.In the past, I have used a few different similar patches, but I like this one the best. The size is large enough to cover my entire lower back or can be applied to the side for hip pain. Once this patch is applied, the pain is totally gone within a few minutes. It feels cold when first applied, and then warms up although it’s not a warmth I have been aware of. Most important to me is the pain stops and my activities are not limited. I have worn this patch all day and through the night. The next day the pain is still gone even after I take the patch off.I know pain is our body’s way of telling us to slow down, but at my age, I just don’t have time to do anything slower, and won’t allow aches or pains to limit my activity. I would definitely recommend these patches as they:1) cover a large areas2) relieve muscle, back, and hip pain in just a couple of minutes3) stay on all day and through the nightUPDATE 09/11/22:When I got up today, I had a sporadic stabbing pain in my right upper hip. Although it did ache a bit, it was nothing I couldn’t handle. By the afternoon the ache was worse and the stabbing pain more often. I was talking to my husband and he asked my why I was standing weird, so I told him about the pain. He reminded me of these patches, which I hadn’t thought of. He put one of the patches on the aching part of my back, and the pain was gone almost instantly – literarily. I should have thought to use one of these patches sooner instead of going through most of the day in pain. These things really do work.I hope this review was helpful for you.

The IcyHot patches work as advertised (hot and cold) and provide relief for those bodily aches you want to treat without taking a pill.Super convenient to have, especially for older adults who need to treat the pain daily. The adhesive is very strong and provides effective pain relief wherever you apply it. It’s a must have!

I occasionally get lower back pain and these help a lot
Noöne warned me that at room temperature this feels mighty cold when first being applied to the lower back. I may take advantage of the resealable pouch by heating up some water, then putting the (resealed) pouch in the water to pre-warm them.For those of you with a little more back hair, I might recommend shaving the area before application, otherwise removal may be a bit dramatic.The application/removal part is only secondary. The primary reason to get these was for some lower-back pain relief. I wasn’t quite sure how effective they would be, but was surprised that it did live up to the claims and allowed my back muscles to relax so I could finally move around again. The large size ensured good coverage beyond just the troublesome area. It stayed in place and was mess-free.I can’t think of any REAL cons to this product, and, in fact, am adding another package to my cart. I’ll probably store it in one of my cars as I love to road trip but my back doesn’t love the seat in my car, and sometimes after just 2hrs of driving, getting out of the car is a real hassle.

Works Enough, but Cream is WAY Better
I regularly hurt/strain my back (and neck) at work, being a nurse. I wanted to get these patches since the cream smells SO strongly (I don’t mind, but some coworkers and patients do, haha).They’re not bad. They do help my pain. No smell. But I absolutely cannot get over how… wet (???) they make my shirt feel. I can’t explain it— my shirt is not actually wet and the patch stays on well enough (it’s not perfect for your lower back, it tends to not stick directly to the spinal area so I have to press it down a lot), but it’s just a strange sensation. It’s not my skin. It’s the shirt. I don’t know.They also don’t really heat up. They’re so cold going on and just get to room temperature. Don’t expect them to work as well as the cream but it’s an alternative when you can’t be walking around, smelling of menthol.

Suffered from years of lower back pain, these have been a lifesaver!
I have lower back pain and this is much more helpful than Motrin or Tylenol! I used these at Disney and I’ve used them many times at home. They provide significant relief. I think the menthol makes an huge difference. Even got my parents using them for their back pain and they said it helped a ton and have ordered several packs as well! Try them, you won’t regret it!

Very Helpful for muscle pain
We find relief from muscle pain with these patches. The XL size is great for husband’s lower back, while L size plenty big enough for female lower back or shoulder area. Are difficult to apply to back on your own- they twist and fold too much. A firm bandaide type backing would be so much better! I have very sensitive skin but these ok with me.
