Excellent Pillow, So-So Cover
Tired of cheap versions I had bought over the years, I committed to buying a $100 body pillow with the help of a $10-off code. Turns out this Coop 20×52 is one the better bedding decisions I’ve ever made.This combination of memory foam & chopped regular foam is the hot ticket, it works great. For me the default amount of stuffing is correct. When I rec’vd shipment, I thought something was wrong the package was so light & small. But it’s vacuum-packed and, apparently, also free of moisture, because after the fluffing routine from the instructions it gained weight as well as size. This baby is HEAVY after a couple days of sitting out. *Really* heavy. So don’t be shocked about the small package you receive, LOLThat same weight actually makes for a great, soft mountain of a pillow that does not move! The large bulk of this model, combined with the wonderful feel of compliant-yet-supportive memory foam, is a totally restive comfort. Placed between knees while laying on your side, there’s a 4″ – 6″ thickness (distance) between your legs, relieving pelvis tension perfectly. It’s easy to mush & squish this into the PERFECT shape to do what you need at various points on your body, much easier than all of the cheap ones I’ve had before. Maybe partly due to the strangely-patterned cover the pillow comes with, seems like those segmentations help move or arrange the stuff inside, it’s always smoothing and shaping, it works very well.However, while the pillow outer case is a great container, it’s a poor cover. The synthetic material has twisty threads & pills appearing in the morning, pulling loose or grabbing at the velcro on my watch strap. It also seems to “grab dirt” and get dingy easily.But the real issue is the cover has a strong friction, grabbing at the bedding, making it VERY difficult to slide when you are repositioning yourself and the pillow. And with the heft and size of this guy, having to lift a segment to get it to slide will just about bust a gut. It’s like wrestling with a bear.So I recommend this odd pillow case be retained due to the way it handles the contents so well and is durable with a good zipper, etc. BUT you DO buy a slick silk or satin $10 – $15 case for the outside. I did that and it’s the best of both worlds. A cheap satin cover slides easier and really helps moving it around under the covers, requiring only about 1/3 the force compared to the original. However, this is still a BIG and HEAVY pillow that might not be workable for frail or elderly persons … otherwise for shoppers that don’t mind using a little muscle this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

::Update in 2021, still going strong::Update: 6 months later, there is no decrease in loft.Usually, a normal body pillow is starting to look slightly deflated at this point. This pillow is still as voluminous and softly squishy as on day one. Love this. As soon as we got the lakeside cabin in the woods, I ordered another one, as I won’t sleep without it if I have a choice.Original Review: As a perennial side-sleeper I am a veteran of low back pain… and therefore have become a connoisseur or body pillows. Even if I go on vacation, I bring a body pillow case, and stuff it with hotel pillows to support my knee and prevent my back from twisting. I only wish this pillow could go with me.First things first. This thing is heavy and unwieldy. Someone described it as a limp drunk, and I feel this is a hilarious and accurate description. If you ever want to feel like you’re cuddling with another person, this is as close as it gets in pillow-form. But that very weight and resistance to compression is what makes this a great pillow. But that resistance somehow doesn’t make it uncomfortable. You sink into it, very like any other memory foam pillow, but it doesn’t feel like a brick because of the way the memory foam inside is almost shaved. Touching it is sort of surreal, and it makes you want to knead it, like a cat.The size of this pillow is 60 inches long, therefore it doesn’t fit in a normal body-pillow case. But the pillow’s surface is knit, that means if you try to stuff it in a 54 inch case, it *will* fit, but that will compact the inner fill, and make it less comfortable.As for temperature, it doesn’t cool and it doesn’t heat. It seems to take on your temperature very well. The few times I had a hot flash, it was hot, too…but that’s my temperature, not the pillow. I didn’t find it normally warming, just extremely cuddlesome.Some folks have complained about the odor, and it did have a distinctive odor when it first came out of the package and I didn’t like it. But touching it made me think it might be worth the while to let it air out for a bit, which I did, turning it frequently to help it do that faster. I would say I waited 2 weeks for the smell to go down. I am SO glad I persisted! The smell faded, and I was rewarded with the best sleep ever, with the cuddliest pillow on earth.If you’re tired of standard body pillows whose fill fritters out just when you need the support, I HIGHLY recommend you try this. I don’t think I’ve ever been so passionate about a pillow before.

Will update review after use, but just wanted to put this out there based on many of the negative reviews around filling & smell vs. my experience with my recent purchase.Not sure if folks don’t understand ‘off gassing’ & have certain expectations surrounding initial smell, but I can say that after letting the pillow sit out in sunlight in my well ventilated office for 2-3 days the smell is almost gone. It takes time with these kinds of pillows & this type of fill to ‘off gas’. If your expectation is to use it immediately upon opening, then this may not be for you (though some folks seem to have had some success using a dryer).In terms of filling – I have zero complaints as to the amount of filling in the pillow. Some negative reviews seem to either have gotten a poor product (maybe a quality control issue), or they don’t understand how to fluff these kinds of pillows. After opening & a quick fluff of this pillow it began to expand immediately. After putting it in sunlight & fluffing each day I can say it is plenty full & I’m quite satisfied with its size/shape.

Was sent without the filling material, and original packaging. This is from a return and it is sloppy. Do not recommend.

Complete garbage.Product states “memory foam” it’s HALF filled with balls of fluff.A wet paper bag has more support…!!!
