Economical and convenient way to keep food warm.
Worked out better than expected. Usually cater for our parties, but decided to do some grilling and didn’t want to spend the money to buy chafing dishes. Storing those bulky items just seemed like a chore too. Saw these and figured they were worth a try. Couldn’t be happier with the results, used 2 in a large aluminum pan and the food stayed warm for about 3 hours. The food wasn’t piping hot, but it stayed warm. Will definitely buy again.

Worthless
This was worthless. I followed the directions but the warming pad never got hot. The temp of the pad never got above 100 degrees, let alone to a level that would keep the food “hot”. I was taking a meal to a chemo patient and was counting on delivering hot food. Not the case. I think the hand warmers I use for skiing would have done a better job. So disappointing. And not inexpensive!

Followed instructions to the ‘T” — and then some. Directions specify that food should be oven hot; I brought mine to a full boil. Food was still warm after a couple of hours. A word of warning: be prepared to sacrifice the water pan. The bottom pan that you use to hold the water and gel pack will not be fit for food afterwards. Some of whatever is in the gel concoction fused itself to the pan. (See the accompanying before and after photos. The “after” shot was taken after washing with dish soap and hot water.). You could, of course, reuse it as a water pan or some other task, but I won’t be placing food in this. As for the product’s usefulness, the food I served was SO hot to begin with that I don’t know how much the gel pack contributed to keeping the food warm, but it it does seem to have helped. As long as the food doesn’t drop below 140°F for a couple of hours and other sanitation practices have been followed, I’m okay with serving it.

Good for small amounts of food use
It’s okay for me but would not benefit my use. It only kept the food slightly warm at the bottom of the pan. Everything on top was cold to touch after about 10 minutes. The packs puffs up when it soaks up the water. I did use hot water to start. Afterwards, that was a gel substance at the bottom of the pan. See photo image. Not sure if I had a slightly bad or outdated pack. But not hot enough for my use.

Good option when regular sterno not permitted.
We used these with a rented chafer after learning our venue did not permit any open flames, including regular Sterno. Although these cost more than we wanted to pay, they worked quickly and easily and kept the food hot for 2+ hours.

Simple option to keep food warm for big party meals!
Super easy to set up and use, just add water and it’ll keep a tray of food warm for a long time. We hosted a dinner party at our house and got these started an hour before guests arrived and hours later after the party was over the food was still warm when we put it up. Would buy again if needed!

I purchased these for a large potluck breakfast to keep bacon warm. It was so easy to use and keep it warm for the entire meal! Everyone was surprised and we talked about them all morning. Highly recommend for when you need to keep things warm without being bulky or complicated! I’ll be repurchasing for sure!

I cater and I would love a product like this. Sadly i did not find them to produce much heat. At least not enough to rely on to keep food warm.I followed the directions and did some testing and was thoroughly unimpressed. If they produced the heat promised I would use them a lot.
