Anna-Maria deCicco –
Jobst is the #1 brand for compression stockings!
I have worked in the pharmacy/DME industry for a long time, so I knew that Jobst was the ONLY company from which to purchase medical hosiery. When I experienced what was suspected to be a DVT (deep vein thrombosis – a clot in a major vein in my body. These are extremely dangerous as these clots can break loose and move to the lungs, causing a pulmonary embolism. PE’s are extremely fatal and over 300,000 people per year worldwide die suddenly from PEs!) I began to take action to prevent another DVT. Taking an 81mg Aspirin every day, as well as being very cautious about the length of time I am sitting or lying immobile. For my upcoming cross-country move, I will be riding in a car for a total of almost 20 hours (over two days). Extended travel like that is where DVTs strike most. These Jobst compression stockings will help keep the blood in my lower extremities flowing. This pressure, 20-30mmHg, is the lowest prescription strength available, but is still a moderately strong compression and is usually available only by prescription from your doctor (where I am located). My extensive experience with Jobst made me feel confident in my ability to choose the strengths I needed. *** READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY!!! *** Make sure that you google image search “JOBST STOCKING MEASUREMENT GUIDE” before you purchase — the sizing is absolutely specific, and there are charts on the back of each package that will tell you what size you fall into. These are all available on google images when you search. Measure BOTH legs with a seamstress measuring tape/fabric measuring where the images indicate (widest part of ankles, widest part of calf, and for thigh highs, widest part of thigh) and write your measurements down for each leg. Then find which size you correlate to – you may be right between two sizes on one measurement on one leg, but not usually both. ***The sizing really is easy. They are NOT regular stockings though, they WILL be VERY TIGHT! That’s the point!Another pro tip: DO NOT attempt to put these on like pantyhose or stockings. DO NOT BUNCH THEM UP TO THE TOE and then try to pull them on. By doing that, you are putting ALL of the compression strength in one band, and you will NOT be strong enough to pull against it. Leave the stocking out long, hold the opening wide with both hands, and then insert your foot as far as it will go. Then, try to shimmy it up your leg further by using a WIDE OPEN PALM (think like you’re about to give a high five) and using the traction from your palm to slide the hosiery upward. DON’T try to pull up little pieces of fabric to pull with your finger tips! These are probably thick enough to stand up to that, but the regular hosiery design WILL run and tear from that. If the traction from your hands is not enough, go grab a rubber dishwashing glove (dry and new, obviously) and don those. Then do the same open-palmed shimmy. That should make it exponentially easier to put them on. The higher the strength (mmHg) the more difficult they will be to put on.To take them off, simply flip the top edge over and pull them straight down, turning them inside out as you pull. That’s the easiest way. Then you can right side them when they are off.Anyway, JOBST stockings are absolutely, in my opinion, the #1 compression stocking on the market. We are extremely lucky that we can purchase strengths greater than 15-20mmHg here! But if you are just starting, or just decided to purchase compression stockings on your own (not at the request of your doctor) definitely go back to the 15-20mmHg strength and try those first. 20-30mmHg is medium strength and 30-40mmHg is indicated mostly for post-surgical patients. So please do know your information when you buy them!Otherwise, these are the RELIEF line, not the “Real-looking hosiery” line – They are not designed to be pretty or look like pantyhose. The quality is EXCELLENT, the color (Beige) is a pretty standard caucasian light tan, the fabric is thick like tights, but woven because of the compression. There is no compression in the toes, for comfort and safety. The silicone dots at the top of the thigh highs are very ‘sticky’ and do a great job of keeping these in place. If your doctor has told you to purchase 20-30mmHg or moderate compression thigh-high stockings, these (or any Jobst stocking) are definitely the ones to purchase.

No more pain in my legs! Not hard to put on.
I sit a lot at work, and noticed pain in my legs. Besides getting more active, I knew I had to do something. I have had varicose vein surgery before, and I want to avoid it. After wearing these for the first few days, I noticed my legs felt so much better. No more pain and achiness. I wear these all day until I go to bed to give my legs a rest. There not too hard to put on. I scrunch the fabric down to the toes; put the stockings over my toes and slowly pull them up my leg. This works very well for me. I would highly recommend these to anyone with pain in their legs!

Longer than expected, good support, but they wear out
I ordered a Medium, and these stockings are longer than a previous brand I had which kept crawling down my thigh. I have quite long legs, and they come ALL the way up! As long as I use plenty of hand cream when I put them on, they stay up pretty well. They are definitely better than a previous pair of Jobst thigh-high support hose I owned (which are now discontinued). I machine wash them in warm, but I do NOT put them in the dryer! They do need to be pulled up occasionally, but if I start down by the ankle and gently pinch a bit of stocking and gently pull, working my way up, they seem to do well.Update: I’m finding that after being washed several times, the stockings lose some of their tightness. Drying them on low heat helps, but they still become too loose to do any good. Also, I’m having problems with them ripping at the heel despite the reinforced heel. I only use them on one leg, so a pair lasts twice as long, but the price keeps going up, and I don’t feel like I should have to replace them as often as I do. I haven’t found anything better so far, but I can’t call this a ringing endorsement!Update on July 15, 2013: I ordered these stockings on July 1. Unfortunately, because they are not a Prime item and ship from the seller, the expected delivery date was July 8-11. That was terrible news for me as all three of my existing stockings have holes in the heel and have lost support. The really bad news is that the items STILL have not arrived 14 days after I ordered them and 4 days after the latest expected delivery. Yesterday I contacted the company & received an answer today that the stockings are back-ordered 7-10 business days. From when????? Since these are the only stockings I have found that remotely work for me, I am forced to simply wait on their convenience. This is extremely poor customer service to fail to notify a client of a back-ordered item until a complaint is received! It’s not like this is a new shade of lipstick that I want–I NEED these stockings, and I’m in pain when I don’t have them!So if you decide to order these, be sure to replace them WAY before you actually need them!

Great Value For Medical Stockings!
I am grateful for these stockings! I was able to get this pair & another for the price of one spendy pair. Since these are not covered under insurance and I must wear these everyday, getting a few pairs I can rotate through is essential! Fit true to size; make sure you measure yourself properly. They stay up as well. HSA eligible too! Very happy with them! Thank you!

Imperfection in material.
Not for sure I would order again. I knew the item was none returnable when I ordered, but needing them for post surgery I took a chance. One of the hose had a hole near the band at top about a 1/4 inch in diameter. I expect it to grow in size and become a giant runner.

Comfortable and long lasting
i wear this branch for 10 years already. They are relatively easy to put on, comfortable all day long wearing. They are relatively thick and non-transparent. But I like the thickness, they last longer and spread uniformly on the leg.

Llegó antes de la fecha indicada y la calidad es muy buena, el empaque llegó un poco maltratado pero el producto completamente nuevo y en una bolsa interior cerrada, estas medias son de mejor calidad que las que venden en las tiendas en México.
