MUDGEAR IS MADE TOUGHER. MudGear builds socks, performance apparel, and gear for modern hybrid athletes competing in OCR, Rucking, Trail Running, Hybrid Fitness, and Endurance Events.
How did we build the world’s best compression socks for running?
Normal testing of compression socks involves stretching them to measure the strength and passing them through a simple abrasion test to see how quickly they show wear. Our testing involves putting them on the world’s top obstacle racers and trail runners for trips up and down mountains all day in all types of weather.

D. Kohfield –
Quality product – very reasonably priced for prescription-grade (really tight) compression socks
Those who’ve purchased compression socks with a prescription know there is a difference between what is referred to as compression socks at the low cost end of things on Amazon and what you wind up with from a pharmacy. There is a reason for that lower pricing. All that to say, this product is as close to “pharmacy grade” as I’ve ever ordered from Amazon, but priced significantly lower than what I’ve paid at pharmacies in the past. In my opinion, that makes this product worth the investment if you’re in need of what I will call prescription-grade compression socks. This product is a tight fit. A really tight fit. Compression is effective from the toe of the socks throughout the length of the socks (as opposed to many of the looser, foot-only “compression socks” available on Amazon at cheaper prices). You get what you pay for – in the case of this product, you may be getting more than you pay for, at least by comparison to pharmacy pricing. Suffice it to say, for the price, I am impressed.Bottom line, in my opinion, this product is a good alternative to the costly prescription-grade compression socks available at pharmacies, especially if your purchase is not covered by insurance. For those who need “true” compression socks, recommended.

Order up, way up!
I ordered the biggest size available and these fit me. I wear a 7.5 womens. And now they’re way too long for me so I hope the foot isn’t too short for the man in my home or they’ll be useless for both of us.I thought mud gear would be different.

Too tight on the calf area
Well made but too tight on the area. If you have maybe petite calfs it might be ok.

Very high quality and super warm
Ordered these compression socks in Large thinking I would wear them for ice fishing. They were a bit too tight for me, so I had my husband try them on. He wears a size 10 shoe with fairly narrow feet. He really struggled to get them on (which is normal for true “compression” socks) – but he really liked the length when wearing boots. They kept his feet warm, dry, and comfortable all day, and he said his legs and feet felt great at the end of the day.The price of these compression socks might shock you, if you are comparing them to the price of “normal” high-rise wool socks. But – if you need the pressure a true compression sock provides, and value the comfort and warmth of a wool sock, then you’ll appreciate the performance of these socks. We do recommend them!

Compression Socks for Cold Weather
I wear compressions socks often, but in winter they don’t keep my feet warm. These sock are great for walking and hiking in cold weather. There is just enough wool in them (19%) to provide the warmth that other compressions socks don’t.They seem to run true to size but they are very long. I ordered a large based on another review that said they ran small, but I should have ordered a medium because the large are a little too big (I wear a Womens size 9 shoe). They are pictured on me and also on my husband who wears a size 12 mens shoe and is tall.If you are new to compression socks – they are difficult to get on and these are no exception, especially with the extra length. I found that these did not provide as much compression in the instep and ankle as others (maybe because I ordered a large instead of a medium?), but they have good compression in the calves. These will be my “go to” compression socks when walking or hiking in the winter.

Nice quality, sizing completely wrong
I wear a 9.5 women, slim foot, narrow heel and ordered a large. These were almost impossible to get on. Once I got a sock on my foot I had to pull it off immediately, it was so tight it hurt! The quality of the material appears ok, but the sizing and fit is poor.

Extra support and comfort on the trail
The MudGear Compression socks are a good find. I’ve had the chance to take them out on a few easy-to-mild hikes already, and they’re comparable to better known brands. The fit is perfect (I’m a men’s 9.5, so I opted for Medium) – not too tight but you can definitely feel the benefits of compression on the calves. The cushioned undersole provides just enough spring. The only unanswered question is durability, but the weave suggests they’ll hold up for as long as other brands I normally use.My only gripe is that they bill these as “Merino Wool” when it is really a blend. You can find 100% wool socks at a better price point, but you may not get the full compression effect. So, there’s a bit of trade-off.

High Quality TALL Compression Socks
These socks are great! I wear a size 11 men’s shoe and the large fits great. The material is comfortable while being tight enough to offer compression. The seamless design ensures that there are no annoying seams or bumps to irritate my feet.So far, I’ve worn these while plowing snow on a four wheeler and around the house. For the 30-45 minutes it took me to clear the snow, these kept my toes nice and warm. They fit nicely in my snow boots, coming all the way up to just under my knee.I’ve washed these several times and so far they don’t show any sign of wear or loose stitching.I’d recommend these to anyone looking for a knee-height warm compression sock.
