Too thin to use!
Too thin! The thermal pad tore (on both!) when I tried to peel off the protective film as directed for step 1. Could not use.

Completely transformed my gaming laptop
My laptop is a whole new machine. I can no longer hear the loud fans running constantly. I can’t even tell if my laptop is turned on. It was not like this before I installed the paste.I have an ASUS ROG STRIX G16 with an Intel i9-13980HX and an NVIDIA RTX 4080. It came with liquid metal cooling. It is almost three years old. When idle, the cooling fans sounded like a rocket ship taking off from Earth. It was very slow. I read online that I needed to reapply thermal paste. I watched a YouTube video, and they recommended these multi-phase pads.The pads are an improvement over traditional thermal paste for high-temperature applications, such as CPUs and GPUs, because they have multiple phases that alternate between liquid and solid, depending on the temperature. They are not suitable for low-temperature applications because they must reach a high temperature to “initialize.” Once they have initialized, they work better than traditional paste.The pads are very thin, and the material tore as I applied them. However, the label advised not to worry about that because it would turn into a liquid form anyway. It’s more important to cover the surface as evenly as possible.

Temp problem solved
It definitely stabilized the temperature on my 7900xtx hellhound. I was seeing fluctuating temperatures over 40c difference between GPU temp and hotspot. After installation, its odd if i see a difference of over 25c.I gave it a 4 star because its too expensive for two pieces of material which covers for up to 2 applications and the possibility of messing up is high . The the actual product starts to rip when taking it off the plastic film it comes in during installation , and this is true for any brand PTM7950. I’ve see a post somewhere in the internet that you can put the PTM7950 in the freezer to manage it better when installing.

Couldn’t get it to peel.
I couldn’t get the pad to peel from the plastic making it a waste for me.Household temp was 75F with 50% humidity if that matters to anyone.I tried chilling the pads to make them more solid. It failed.

Much easier to deal with than a tube of traditional thermal grease!
PTM7950 is likely the future of CPU cooling. Gone are the days of not getting the perfect coverage, spreading your grease too thin or putting too much on the CPU.Especially now-days where CPU’s are getting long and the actual packages are in very specific locations making it easy to not get the perfect coverage for your block.Pro-tip, throw this into the freezer before you cut it to size. Just make sure you don’t get any frost on it. Put it in a ziplock bag or something first.
