Whistling is common in small in-ear hearing aids and is known as ‘feedback.’ It occurs when amplified sound from the hearing aids escapes back to the microphone and is re-amplified.

How to reduce whistling?

Choose Larger Ear Domes: Properly fitting ear domes can prevent sound leakage. Larger ear domes create a tighter seal in the ear canal, reducing the amount of sound that reaches the microphone.Turn Off or Lower Volume before Inserting: Inserting the hearing aids into the ear with the switch on will definitely cause feedback whistling. You can turn on or up the volume after the hearing aid has been inserted into the ear.Insert the Hearing Aid Deeper: Ensure a snug fit by securely pushing the hearing aid into your ear.Turn Down the Volume: Lower the volume to limit sound leakage.Keep Ears and Hearing Aids Clean: Excessive earwax can block sound, causing feedback.
