BEST camping mat I have found!
I WILL BE BUYING ANOTHER ONE OF THESE! This is the longest review I’ve written yet, and I’ve written many! This is better than a blow-up mattress that can pop with the slightest sharp pebble, and this camping pad is the way to go! I have lugged around a twin-size air mattress and a pump for many years now, and what a pain. This comes with its own little air pump, specifically fitting into its nest for both air inflation as well as air removal. That part is what I love! As this tiny thing, as big as the palm of my hand, is removing the air, I am rolling and preparing it to go into the perfectly sized storage bag that is also included with it. Before I put it in that bag, it has a woven nylon strap that fits the length and the circumference of the mattress, so it’s not a pain to shove it into its bag. The memory foam is soft and is as thick as the description says it is. What a difference it makes when sleeping on the ground. The secret I found out after sleeping on it for 4 nights is the combination of the air in the memory foam and the mattress material surrounding the memory foam. There is almost a feeling of floating above the ground with this thing. If I hadn’t slept on it myself, I would not have believed something so thin could possibly be this comfortable. The air pump is rechargeable and holds a charge for at least one full inflate and deflate, plus 3-5 re-inflates if you need to add a little extra air. I did on the second night of using it, but like any type of sleepable material that is worth it, there will be some air seepage, but definitely not like a blow-up mattress, where you end up on the hard ground in the morning because there was a hole you did not know was there. I know you know what I am talking about if you’ve used one of those things! Well, I am here to say that with this, that is not going to happen. The outside material is almost like a canvas, but with the feel of sleeping bag material. It also does not leave too much room for getting punctures to it because the way the majority of the air fills the memory foam, rather than just negative space, there really isn’t a pocket that would create that risk. Now, the blow-up pillow is something to be desired. What I found was that the least amount that I blew it up, then put my own camping pillow on that, the better off I was for neck comfort. It is an open-air space pillow like a regular air mattress, but again, the outside material is really heavy-duty, and I believe would take a stabbing motion to really penetrate it to make it unusable. With that being said, that is another plus to this mattress; let’s say the pillow part does get pierced and is no longer inflatable. Well, don’t worry, just add your own because the way it is constructed, the use of the pillow part isn’t necessary for the comfort part. So unlike a regular air mattress, where you have to search out the leak, carefully patch it, then hope for the best of it holding, that won’t be part of your story with this mattress. With or without the pillow, the only thing that I can think of that makes this not usable is for someone who might have a hard time getting up or down on the ground. My solution to that even, spend a few extra bucks and add a cot to this great mat, and voila-problem solved. All I know is that I love to camp and go on overnight backpacking trips, and this has been the best darn mat I have ever had! Oh! I forgot to talk about the barrier that the memory foam provides from the cold ground. Even with a double-thick air mattress, I could still feel a chill that would permeate into the air of the mattress, leaving a chill for me to wake up to. I promise that will not happen with this. I truly believe that if you love to camp like I do, and you are tired of replacing your air mattresses from punctures that you can’t patch, or you just want something easier to carry, this is the mat to get. It costs about the same, but I know that the durability it has will surpass anything else! I included a couple of videos showing an example of how the pump works in the mattress. It actually goes in with the little lever I was holding facing to the bottom to keep it in position. I just had it upright for the sake of the video and seeing what makes it run. I love this mattress, and am going to get more so all my kids and grandkids have them for our family camping trips. I promise, you won’t be disappointed!

Great for camping and plenty adequate for at-home use.
I got this pad right after returning from a camping trip. So I missed the chance to take it out, but immediately tried it out because I really needed a nap after sleeping on one of those thin blow up pads. It was great. Blows up pretty quickly with the self inflating adapter. It was a little difficult to figure out how to blow up the pillow. It’s a separate compartment. And you have to use the included adapter that goes with the cordless pump to get the pillow to work.So if you lose the pump or attachment nozzle then this will be a bit of a hard air mattress to blow up. If you blow it up too tight then it’s pretty hard. So to make the most of the memory foam then you need to only blow it up to about 60-70% capacity. I fell asleep quickly and as is with no other bedding it was comfortable. I will say the pillow is a little flat for side sleeping if you have broad shoulders. But having an included pillow is a welcome addition to this air-pad. It means you have one less thing to bring / lose. The bag that comes with it is plenty big for rolling it up. It also has 2 straps to tie it together once rolled up. It’s a little narrow. I’m 6’2” 190 lbs and I fit only it just fine. But for a plus sized person it won’t be wide enough to roll over unless you do it in place.Overall it’s a lot nicer than the old ballon- style camping air mattresses. If you take time to adjust the air pressure to your liking (firm or soft) then you should get a pretty comfortable place to sleep out of this airpad. Worth it if you want to upgrade your old pad or have an extra bed for younger guests. In a camping situation this is top notch bedding. At home it’s a good temporary solution.

This may be my new favorite camping mattress.
I almost didn’t pull the trigger on this. I have too many air mattresses already. Ranging from the light backpacking suitable ones with the built in hand pump all the way up to full queen air mattresses that you might use indoors. They all have their best usage scenarios, so I guess I keep convincing myself that there’s another niche yet to be filled. I have zero regrets about getting this one.The last camping air mattress I’d picked up was a double-sized and double thickness version of one of those small light backpacking ones. At 3″ thick, I thought it was a game changer. Too heavy to backpack with, but I mostly hit campgrounds these days, so the weight isn’t a big deal. So, when I saw that this too had a good bit of thickness, plus a memory foam core, I was intrigued. Like I said, I’m not as so focused on weight or packing size when hitting a campground, so even though this puppy is the heaviest and bulkiest of all the mattress I might currently bring camping, it’s all good. Sometimes air mattresses can get cold, since they have pretty much no insulation value. Figured this might sleep warmer in spring or fall. That remains to be tested, but I’m pretty sure it will hold up to the cold. But, what I really noticed is what a huge difference the memory foam core makes in the area of comfort. No bottoming out. It’s surprisingly supportive. It’s wonderful. It’s the best of all worlds. And, as weird as that semi-built in air pump is, it really does effortlessly pump up the mattress in no time flat and suck the air back out when you’re done. The pillow, on the other hand, I’m less enamored with. I want it to be thicker, but I do like myself a big fluffy pillow. I do feel like other air mattresses do a better job on the included pillow bit, but it’s not too bad. It just doesn’t seem inflate quite as much as shown in the pictures. I will admit though, that I wasn’t too focused on inflating the pillow to it’s max. So, it could be that I’ll be updating this review with a “never mind.” However, I do feel that it’s worth noting that the included pump does a much better job on the mattress itself, than the pillow. The attachments don’t connect as solidly as one could have wished. And, that may be why I didn’t have it as fully inflated as I’d have liked. Still, I usually bring my own pillow along when camping anyway, so it’s not a huge deal for me either way.Anyway. Really like it. Happy I got it. Definitely recommend it.
